Emily Hussey
Emily Hussey has lived in several Australian states, and that experience has provided useful backdrop for some of her novels. She spent her twenties in Alice Springs, which became the setting for the Red Centre Series. She now resides on the coast in the city of Adelaide, and is exploring the writing options in every café in walking distance.
Emily was a marriage celebrant for 24 years, and has married couples in many different locations, ranging from private gardens, to beaches, to caves, or rural locations. Many of her clients remain friends to this day. She usually writes with Iris, a black and white cat at her elbow, demanding her share of attention. Writing tends to be fuelled with regular coffee boosts, and occasional squares of very dark chocolate.

The Red Centre Series
The Red Centre Series is set in and around Alice Springs, in the centre of Australia and follows the lives of three very different women. The Red Heart introduces Kathy Sullivan, when she arrives in Alice to take up a new position as a pilot with StationAir.
Book 2 (Trust Your Heart) follows Sarah’s story as she makes a life for herself again following the death of her fiancé from leukaemia.
In Book 3 (Follow Your Heart) we get to know the person behind Melissa Gilbert’s aloof and manipulative façade.
Sandy Bay Series
THE AUSTRALIAN COASTAL town of Sandy Bay is close enough to the Adelaide that its residents can access the city if they need to, but far enough away that they can ignore the city too. The town swells with visitors on weekends or during the holiday season, but at other times it’s quiet and the locals like it like that.
In a small-town environment, everyone knows everyone else, and secrets can be difficult to keep. It’s astonishing what things some people manage to hide for so long. Either in Sandy Bay, or the adjoining hub of Port Reilly, the unexpected may still surprise the most cynical resident.
No matter what the current crisis, the lure of the Bay and the pristine Australian beaches will continue to delight, not just the characters but the readers as well.
