Cecilia, Megalania, The Find: A collection of short stories, Shadow in the Blood - Book 1.
"CECILIA" In a Venice cloaked by eerie fog and ancient secrets, a young woman named Cecilia begins to experience visions and dreams that echo with a primal force—something older than time, calling from the depths. As the lagoon’s waters grow still and men begin to vanish, a whisper of forgotten mythology returns. Drawn into a tapestry of mystery and matriarchal legacy, Cecilia is forced to confront a truth her blood has always known but her mind has refused to see: she is the latest in a line of women chosen to guard a terrible, beautiful secret. Her great-grandmother and two elderly companions still whisper prayers in a forgotten tongue, their voices a fragile shield against something rising. This is a story of feminine power, ancestral memory, and a love so deep it transcends death—but also of betrayal, wrath, and the seductive danger of the unknown. Threaded through Venice’s timeless alleys and sunken ruins is a myth reborn, one that pulses in the water and in Cecilia’s very veins. As past and present blur and the veil between worlds thins, Cecilia must decide whether to deny her inheritance—or embrace a fate entwined with a goddess once worshipped, now feared. Ethereal and haunting, Cecilia flows like the tides that shape it—seductive, mysterious, and impossible to resist.
