Lisa Pape
Growing up in Melbourne, Australia, this children’s book author overcame early academic challenges by immersing herself in reading, which sparked a lifelong love of learning and creativity.
After a career shift from finance to roles as a swimming teacher, nanny and then becoming a Mum to her own two amazing children, she loved watching the joy reading colourful and exciting stories brought to these children as they had done for her.
Notes and scribbles of poems and stories that came to mind over many years eventually began to evolve as the “Positive Playground” series, written to foster confidence and positivity in children and provide support to those children facing learning challenges.
Today, she successfully balances a career in finance with the rewarding world of writing, continuing to encourage and nurture children’s growth through the transformative power of storytelling.

Amy Can Do Maths
Maths is hard!
That is what Amy believes.
In fact, the thought of maths class makes Amy’s tummy feel sick and now she no longer wants to go to school. With her father's encouragement, Amy slowly realises she can do maths and maths sums are everywhere in everyday life.
Amy Can Do Maths gives parents, care givers and teachers the opportunity to highlight those things that their children have already achieved when they are faced with learning new skills that may seem quite challenging or impossible.
Children are able to count the stars and apples on the pages as they read through the book making counting fun. These are activities that you can do with your child at home with everyday household items, picking up toys, pegging out washing or counting the beans on their plate like Amy.
