Paul Hewer
Paul grew up in country Western Australia, devouring historical fiction, science fiction and fantasy books and movies from an early age. In adulthood, his love of these genres led him to turn his hand to writing his own science fiction/adventure screenplay. Following that, he wrote a short screenplay about a man coping with the onset of Alzheimer’s, a topic close to his heart.
A national writing competition inspired Paul to try something slightly different, writing a single scene for a novel. Encouraged, he kept on writing, and 'The Blackwater Chronicles' was born.
Paul lives in Perth with his wife, Linda.

BOOK 1 - THE WOODEN CROWN
Prince Leto Blackwater has known nothing but privilege, indulging in every whim with reckless abandon, while chafing under the weight of a future meant for another. He rebels against the chains of expectation, stirring unrest in the court and earning the wrath of his father, the King.
But when a savage act of revenge tears through the heart of his family, Leto is cast from the only world he has ever known. Hunted by those who had once sworn fealty, haunted by guilt and loss, he must navigate the ashes of a fractured kingdom.
Alliances crumble and betrayals cut deep as the fires of an ancient blood feud sweep across the realm. With his family’s fate hanging by a thread, Leto confronts the man he was to become — the leader he never intended to be.
BOOK 2 - THE EMPTY THRONE
As the kingdom teeters on the brink of war, the Blackwater rule is all but destroyed, and two mighty houses — each led by lords unwilling to yield — head for a clash that will ultimately decide the fate of the realm, leaving each house forever changed.
And in the shadows of power, a young handmaiden guards a dangerous secret, a scorned heir fights desperately for approval, and a vilified royal companion must protect a princess caught in the chaos of a shattered kingdom.
Loyalties fracture. A blood feud burns. And the fate of the realm hangs in the balance.
