Melody Bowles
Melody writes fantastical short stories. Her stories have been featured in several anthologies and zines. In 2022, she was selected for the National Writing Centre's Escalator writing development programme. She lives in Cambridgeshire and when she isn't writing boots gremlins out of computers. In 2023 she published Modern Mythical Creatures, a collection of stories adapting her favourite British myths and legends to take place in modern times.

According to stories, we share our world with a menagerie of mysterious creatures. What happens when those creatures appear in the modern world? Do fairies still like traditional offerings of herbs and spices? Do unicorns still live in forests? Do sea serpents still yearn to eat innocent maidens? This collection of stories brings myths from across the UK to a modern world with offices, cities and fast food restaurants. The consequences are often comedic, sometimes horrific and always surprising.
