The Grand Union series comprises three novels: Union Clues, Broken Lock and Grand Stand. Whilst narrowboats and inland waterways feature prominently, the books are a world away from the traditional canal-based travelogue. Union Clues is narrated by three strong female protagonists - Stella, an Oxbridge graduate, resentful wife and anxious mother, Nancy a feisty rock star whose career has imploded and Dawn, an ambitious police detective with a troubled home life. In Broken Lock and Grand Stand other characters join the trio and tell their stories, including Nathan, an ex-convict battling to rebuild his life and Lanh, a victim without a voice. At the heart of the series lies a highly unusual crime, which sets off a train of events that gains momentum with each book. Felicity can't reveal anything more without giving away the plot, but she is confident that readers won't have encountered a crime like this in any other novel - ever. However, these are not pure crime novels. The Grand Union series is about friendship, guilt, revenge, courage, deceit, despair, love, loyalty and - above all - self-discovery.
