M T McGuire grew up on a windy Down in Sussex. After a brief and impressively unsuccessful go at stand up, she decided she was funnier sitting down and started to write books. She now lives in Bury St Edmunds with her McFamily and McCat. McGuire is over 50 years old now but still checks inside unfamiliar wardrobes for a gateway to Narnia. Boringly, she's not found any. But she lives in hope.
